Nanomaterials (with one or more dimension in the 1-100 nm range) have specific properties mainly governed by quantum physics or surface effects, and significantly different from those of macroscopic objects. Emblematic nanomaterials are carbon nanotubes, which have generated a worldwide, and highly competitive, scientific research activity. Because of the particular properties associated with one-dimensional objects, numerous potential applications of nanotubes are envisaged in areas such as aerospace, automobile, nanoelectronics and medicine.

The scientific scope of the proposed conference are the cosmogenic nuclides (CN) used in Earth Sciences; whether produced in-situ in rocks or produced in the atmosphere. It will cover the methodology and application of currently used in-situ produced CNs (3He, 10Be, 14C, 21Ne, 26Al, 36Cl, 53Mn); and CNs produced in the atmosphere (atmospheric CNs) that are preserved in ice and sedimentary records (10Be, 14C, 36Cl, 129I). Radiocarbon dating, utilizing decay of atmospheric cosmogenic 14C in organic matter or dissolved carbon dioxide in water, won’t be sought as core topic.
